The high rates of deforestation are of great concern to the international community, scientists and government and the Brazilian environmental legislation for the protection and recovery is insufficient due to lack of: articulation of scientific knowledge to the definition of concepts in the legislation, search the decrease of costs of recovering forests and degraded areas, lack of ecological patterns. Similarly environmental legislation encourages the use and sustainable management of natural resources but not their deployment and misuse desfavoretion protection of the Amazon forests, one example is the Law 9,605 of environmental crimes that prevent the effective combating of illegal exploitation of timber in the Amazon of Brazil.
